Type “J” four-flute countersinks have 1/4-inch shanks and are popular in helping reduce the breakage of small diameter bits. Note that items numbers ending in ‘H” are hex quick-change shanks. All sizes are 1-1/2 inch (OL) overall length and have 3/4-inch long shanks. Countersinks are used to recess the heads of screws in woods, plastics, and non-ferrous materials. These particular countersinks are made of Carbon Steel and heat-treated for long tool life. The Type C countersink is designed for use in all woods, plastics, and non- ferrous metals. The center drill bit is held in place with 2 hex socket set screws. This countersink can be mounted on taper point, brad point and regular point drills. Legend below explains sizing.
